Daniel Nick is an ADHD guy so buckle up for the bullet point bio.
- Born and raised in Maryland
- Loved History and Writing in school
- Multi-sport athlete from age 10 through college – football, baseball, bowling, track and field (pole vaulting), kickboxing
- Bachelors in Theatre
- Appeared in lots of community theatre and college theatre
- Masters in Special Education (almost – long story)
- Martial arts student since 1980
- 7 years teaching high school special education
- 30 years teaching martial arts
- Travelled by motorcycle across North America several times
- Lived on a sailboat on Catalina island for two years
- Got married to his best friend, Elizabeth
- Visited many countries for martial arts related trainings and teaching
- Created a fully adapted and inclusive martial arts program for students of all abilities to train together on the mats .
- Ran an inclusive martial arts school full time successfully for 12 years and through COVID
- Became the representative for the International Thiang Bando Association for the Americas. (martial arts thing)
- Sold his house and bought a sailboat
- Sailed for three years – across the Gulf of Mexico, up to Maryland, down to Puerto Rico, all around the Caribbean Islands, and back to Texas.
- Finally writing my novels, short stories, novellas, etc.
- I’m 52 and I plan on writing as my primary passion from now on.
- Still teaching inclusive and adapted martial arts part time.
